As with the previous moodboard, I took to another established brand to have a look at the type of media they use to promote their new fashion lines. This time I selected H&M which, at the time, had andesigner collaboration line out. The Simone Rocha x H&M line combined the work of designer Simone Rocha with the product quality of H&M to produce a unique aesthetic for the brand.
To accompany this collaboration, Rocha and H&M released a series of media alongside the clothing to promote the new line. This involved a short film, which I shall link to at the bottom of this post. The imagery and film were stylised in such a way that linked the two together and formed some level of narrative. This can be found in my moodboard below.
As is clearly displayed in the bottom right section, the collaboration line has its own unique style that sets it apart from the typical brand aesthetic, as shown in the top left. Film-style imagery alongside a short film promoting the line appeals to specific audience, as well as those who are new to the work of Rocha.
The top left of the board displays the typical catalogue of H&M. Many of the images, if not the majority, are set indoors in a home setting to represent the comfort and quality the brand promises. Furthermore, the simplistic photography adds a sense of premium to the brand, which is one of the messages they try to convey to sell their products. Furthermore, the simple imagery sells the products well as it presents customers with a clear image of the clothing, without any unnecessary extras that could distract them from the products.
