Below is a selection of the images taken for Set 3. These photos display a third outfit combination to provide variety in the 'products' promoted.
These photos were successful in that they are high quality images and were edited to the same standard as the rest of the project shoots. This maintains the aesthetic across the board and emphasis the quality of the "brand image".
This is something that I found throughout my research and inspiration, where a brand will maintain an aesthetic across a specific product type or product line. Some even held an aesthetic across all their products rather than individuals, such as PHUG. One reason for this is that the PHUG brand have their established customer base who have a particular interest in the style they create. Meanwhile a brand like H&M or Urban Outfitters have far more at stake as a business and are driven by sales, therefore meaning they have to reach out to as wide a customer base as they can.
Another aspect of my photos that can be found in the brand images above is the use of colour and editing to bring out details within the image. As can be seen in one of my images, the model is facing away from the camera, showing off the graphic on the back of the t-shirt. This graphic is bright and colourful and contrasts well with the rest of the image. This can also be seen in the images above, which creates an eye-catching aesthetic.
In contrast, however, the photos from H&M have less colour to them as the aesthetic is balanced out across the image. This is likely down to the difference in styles of lines and products rather than specific branding decisions.
This shoot was successful in displaying this outfit combination on the desired set. Furthermore the aesthetic has been carried across from the previous shoots to maintain the "brand aesthetic".
Were I to do this again I would try to reduce the environmental 'noise' some more. That being said however, I was able to reduce this in comparison to previous sets through shot positioning and post production techniques, such as cropping and object removal.
