Set 4 - Evaluation

Below is a selection of images from Set 4 of my photoshoot. These images display a fourth outfit combination as part of the my lockdown fashion campaign, featuring products such as jumpers and casual bottoms.

This set of photos presents a new set, seen in a couple of the previous images. I shot all sets in these two locations so as to vary the outcomes. I found that this set worked nicely in this location due to the contrasting colours and calmer background.

This selection also features a variety of poses and shot types to really push the boundaries of that experimental-professional brand campaign aesthetic, found in those from my research. Close ups show specific items of clothing, whilst longer shots provide a "stage" for the model to move about in and explore the space within the photographic frame.

This use of space and framing can be seen in a wide range of visual campaigns, particularly in clothing and fashion.

[H&M]

As can be seen in the sample images above from PHUG and H&M, it is common practice for photographers to use their environment as a stage for the model to position themselves. In some cases, like those in the PHUG photos at the top, the director has placed the model on an artificial set, placing them within objects like trees or by positioning the camera far away from the subject. Meanwhile H&M uses a common shot distance in its photos, ensuring a full body shot whilst positioning the models in different places within their environment, such as doorways or against walls.
