Due to the backlog of work as a result of the file-wipe issues mentioned in the previous stages, the marketing stage never got completed. However the content was there, ready to go, it never got edited and finished.
The idea was to create modern versions of Magrite’s “Cesi N’est Pas” series, using recognisable brands and objects with the catchphrase “This is not a *object*”, marketing the video’s concept through complex ideas that would get the audience thinking. Products included Apple Airpods, a McDonald’s box, an iPhone, among others. The objects were to be set floating in front of a plain solid colour background, edited to have the caption beneath. Unedited and unfinished versions of this can be seen below:
These photos would have required heavy editing in Photoshop, including edits such as removing the platforms that hold them up, colour alterations and text addition to add that Magritte touch.
