Alt. Image Making

In the 7th session of the Altered States project we were set with the task of producing images with interesting and ‘altered’ perspectives.


The main way of doing this is by using aperture settings on DSLR cameras. So, using my Canon 1200D and a 50mm f/1.2 lens, I was able to use the lowest possible depth of field to create these images. They can be seen below.


Evidently some of these photos are better than others, purely down to the subject. All the images have been altered in Lightroom, adjusting basic aspects such as the crop, colours and lighting. Each of these adjustments have been made to alter the initial image that was taken, even if they still appear to be real. They are not. They are altered versions of the real subject.


The idea was to create an image that shows an everyday subject in a new perspective, using the knowledge or aperture and angles to get the shot.
