In Tuesday’s session we spent the morning looking at animation and stop motion. We got to play around on different stations, working with different methods of animation and stop motion.
Stations included: green-screen, acetate animation, claymation and stop-motion
Whilst I got to have a go at each of the stations, I fully completed an acetate animation, which can be found in the post below. This animation consisted of 6 drawings on transparent acetate that was then placed in a box with a light shone through it. The lease at the other end magnified the image, making it clear to see in the box. I took a photo of each frame that I had drawn and then put them together in a GIF-style video on Final Cut Pro.
Below is the set of images I’d drawn:
Each frame was traced over the last to ensure some level of continuity, however, minor variations in the shape and style of the storm cloud meant for more realistic looking movement in the final animation.
