Week 3 - Filming

Following the shift-up of ideas and concepts I reimaged the video I was planning on creating. It still follows the ideas generated through the research stage, using Magritte’s surrealist “This is not a…” concept to portray a glammed-up lifestyle of luxury and beauty.

By using a range of lighting and shots I was able to shoot scenes that were similar to that of a perfume / aftershave advert, using dark colours and smooth movements around the subject.

The video was meant to create the idea that it was an advertisement, but with no single product. Many of the shots taken were focused on a variety of aspects, such as glasses, perfume and branded beverages. This would then lead the audience to think about what the video was about, and what the meaning of it is.

Other scenes that were used include the use of scrolling social media feeds to add a chaotic and ‘loud’ atmosphere over a seemingly normal video.
